This pendant has been hand carved, polished and bound by a local Ngai Tahu registered carver based here in New Zealand. Are human like figures often made to represent ancient tribal ancestors, and confer general protection and guardianship. They are commonly depicted in a defiant stance, such as a haka or fighting stance, with a protruding tongue or holding a weapon such as a Mere or Patu. Pounamu or Greenstone is regarded as a stone sacred to the gods by the Maori of New Zealand. As a Taonga -meaning treasured, and it should be worn with respect and pride.Pounamu is a gift from the heart. This pendants measurements are: Length - 60mm Width - 17mm Thickness - 7mm It comes with an adjustable cord so you can wear to the length you desire, traditionally these pendant are worn high up on the chest which also stops the pendant swinging around as much and will keep it safe from knocks/hitting hard objects.
