New Zealand Special Air Service PARATROOPER HELMET 1956 by C. C. L. Size 6 7/8ths
Paratrooper's Helmet that is not specifically marked as such. This is the standard British Army Parachutist Steel Helmet that was adopted for parachute training by the New Zealand Defence Force, who at the time HAD NO PARACHUTE Regiment (We still do NOT have one in the Regular Army, although some soldiers do receive paratrooper training, and are entitled to wear the NZ Army Jump Wings). Only those who have passed the NZSAS Selection Course are entitled to wear the NZSAS Sabrewing design Jump Wing.
At the time this helmet was issued and worn the ONLY paratrooper training carried-out was for training our fledgling Special Air Service. This helmet is 100% ORIGINAL paintwork and liner.
