Presenting an exceptional vintage Maori Patu which has been expertly handcarved from one solid piece of timber. This superb Maori Patu club has been finely hand carved with an intricate spiral pattern combined with maze-like bands designed to confuse the enemy. The traditional pattern has been expertly carved with fine attention to detail and adorns both sides of the patu.
The pattern has been carved with a fabulous depth and remains wonderfully crisp. This piece is presented in excellent vintage condition with no losses, cracks, breaks or repairs. This fine example has a lovely warm tone and mellow patina. This piece has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly.
The original fibrous cord remains in place. This impressive Patu measures approx 390mms in length and 115mms in width.
