The Pacific Ocean - island & people, uncivilizing influences from civilized countries, Origin of Christian Missions, Society Islands, Islands of-- Austral, Pearl, Hervey, Tahiti, Fiji, Hawaiian, Somoa, Micronesia, Tonga, New Zealand, Melanesia, Pitcairn, and Norfolk. 1st edition was in 1895 - so a great look back at how these islands were over 120 years ago -History, climate, religion, ceremonies, population, foods, kings, royalty, modes of transportation, plants, animal life, etc. Condition: Please zoom in on photos carefully as they are part of the description.

All of my books are VERY OLD and have wear. Boards & text very secure.

Some of the pages hadn't been cut apart when bound, leading to some rips. There are a few rips and one really bad one taped with doc.

1 page with edge missing [no text missing] - might have come this way new. Last picture shows a small "patch" job. The pages are all remarkably clean -only a few light spots. There is a library stamp on the front pastedown, the ffep, the preface, and at chapter 1 - NO library pockets, #'s on the spine, or anything on the title page.

T can take up to 14 days to get back East [rare, but it does happen] I use. This book is very old and. May have accumulated bad smells along the way [musty basement/ mildew/ smoke]. Dryer sheets in them for a few months makes a world of difference! My nose doesn't work like it use to.

So the old book smell doesn't bother me. As far as I can tell -this book has no bad smell.
