Jean Batten Pioneering, Record Setting New Zealand Aviator 1930'S Signed Cover 2

Jane Gardner Batten [1909 1982], commonly known as Jean Batten, was a record setting New Zealand aviator who began her flying career in the early 1930's. Batten learned to fly in England and immediately set off to break numerous aviation records. In 1934, she became the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia, followed by an endurance flight of 61 hours from England to Brazil. Her most famous flight was from England to New Zealand in 1936, a record that would stand for 44 years.

In 1937, she completed her last record solo flight from Australia to England. The cover contains an attractive ink cachet of Batten and is signed''Jean Batten'' in blue ink. The cover is postmarked, stamped, measures 6.50 x 4.60 inches, it has trivial wear otherwise is in fine condition. The cover will be accompanied with two [2] original vintage cigarette cards which display her image. The autograph is authentic, and the cover will display nicely.
