THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL STYLISED HEI MATAU (FISH HOOK), with barb! This pendant is very hard to make to achieve the beautiful shape & finish shape on flat lap machine or a wheel shaped grinding machine, job of a real master carver! Made from most Unique KOKOPU jade from South island of New Zealand.

THIS PIECE OF JADE IS very nice with the most sought after TROUT FISH type inclusions (called KOKOPU locally in NZ) and some floating spots reminiscent of the fish it is named after! Beautiful tactile satin finish and thick plaited waxed cord with adjustable knots ready to wear! X 1 3/8 X 3/8 INCHES. 50 X 34 X 10 MMS. Stylised version of a fishhook, supposed to facilitate safe journey over water.
