Toki is SM's new diversification and his fluency and fabulous finishing shows in everything he does! In shops in New Zealand. Toki is an adze used for carving wood; this is lashed with braided cord in a style unique to NZ. The carvers developed a style of wearing this around the neck so their prized possession (wood carving tool) will not be misplaced. What is a QUALITY Toki?
The binding (also called lashing) sits inside the well notched slot, which has been created by cutting out the Jade on the sides locking the cords & reducing friction and movement of the cord, much more extra work than just binding over the jade. No shortcuts taken of sticking the cord to the jade that later comes off. Cord is perfectly bound not showing any Jade beneath through windows. Toki is sloping widthwise means extra grinding. Toki is sloping thickness wise means extra grinding.Toki is ground at the back to make it curved. Cord going around the neck is plaited. Sliding cord which allows you to adjust the length as per your requirements. Has sliding knots with ends finished in lashed/bound molten knots to have a secure slip knot, unlike the knotted ends found in cheaper versions.
56 X 28 X 7 Mms (CURVED). 2 1/4 "X 1 1/8" X 1/3 Inches. COMES WITH WAXED PLAITED CORD (ADJUSTABLE LENGTH) READY TO WEAR! GLOSSY POLISH with fantastic pleasant feel!
