NZFA NZEF ARTILLERY UNIFORM TUNIC & LEMON SQUEEZER WW1. Group comprises World War One New Zealand Field Artillery ORs5 button tunic, lemon squeezer hat, 5 pouch bandolier, and SBR / gasmask bag.
The 5 button tunic complete is with brass NZFA shoulder titles, bursting bomb collar badges, blue & red artillery lanyard, rank chevrons to both sleeves, 5 overseas chevrons, and a brass wound stripe to the left sleeve. The collar has two closure hooks and has been lined. Retaining all originally attached insignia and still retains remnants of its issue paper tag to the inside chest. A medal ribbon bar has been attached at some time but is no longer present. Some mothing evident but, as shown, this does not detract.
Group also includes lemon squeezer hat with Artillery pugarree and hat badge named to gunner O H Burns Octavious Harwood Burns. Born 19 January 1893, Otago. Serial number 2/2589 - Burns served in Egypt and also on the Western Front. One or two minor nips to leather sweatband, and appears in good condition.
The 5 pouch pattern 1903 leather bandolier is in reasonably supple condition, retains its waistbelt attachment loop and is marked HG&R 1917. The SBR gasmask bag is marked to HG&R (Hepburn, Gale and Ross) and still retains its leather keeper and original string for wearing at the ready.
