THIS 100% ONE OF KIND MAORI WHEKU MASK WAS HAND CARVED FROM A NEW ZEALAND GREYWACKE BEACH PEBBLE IMMACULATELY INLAID WITH AN ABSOLUTE GEM NEW ZEALAND KAHURANGI POUNAMU JADE TONGUE AND TINY JEWELS OF IRIDESCENT PAUA SHELL. &###xA0; &###x2028;It&###x2019;s beautifully bound onto on a black hand braided adjustable cord with a max length of 24. &###xA0; It measures 2.2" by 1.2 with a three dimensional depth of 1/2". &###xA0; The Wheku mask represents Maori tipuna (ancestors) and is a guardian often found carved into the walls of Maori meeting houses. Because of this, the island was originally named Te W&###x101;hi Pounamu (the place of pounamu), but over time this name changed to Te Wai Pounamu (the greenstone waters).
