This carving is simple to look at but a lot of time is spent in finishing the incisions indicating stem! This stone is from an old. Collection and has a really beautiful colour/light variation due to chatoyance.

The stone is hard and fine grained. Stone of this colour and with this Chatoyance is very sought after. In studying the geology of the area and the pieces of stone strewn around. I have reason to believe that this is from an exclusive deposit.

The carving shape is sharp and fine being very intricately carved in places. The surface has a fine satin to polish finish. Richard has made many carvings but this is exclusive. A rarity of nature converted into (nature) art with legendary artist's manifestation of nature. 4 1/2 " X 1" X 1/3.
