Tuatahi double bit throwing axe. I've contacted Tuatahi in New Zealand to find out more & they graciously sent this response. Hi Mark, We call this a throwing axe, we would have made this 25 years ago. Baileys used to sell them for us back in the early days. We still make them, you can see them on our website. We have altered them a little bit but they are still basically the same. I hope this has been helpful. This axe is brand new, unused condition with the original label still attached. There is a light amount of surface oxidation (see pics) from storage. I was told emery cloth but I will leave any cleaning to the new owner.

The double bit is 8 1/2" across & 6" at widest end. Total handle measures 26 1/2 long. Believe it to be hickory.
