This listing is for a GUARANTEED entirely original New Zealand Second World War era "Ersatz" locally manufactured Mark Two Brodie soldier's Steel Helmet. Made in country during wartime material shortages, this would once have had a "Transfer" type DECAL where the crudely over-painted black band CEASES at the front-center of this helmet. It was probably either a Fire Service decal or one of the various Home Guard unit logos.

The liner and chinstrap are both original to production and are exactly as-made "down-under" during the dark days of WW2 when our country was anticipating an invasion by the Imperial Forces of the Japanese Army & Navy. The actual maker of this helmet is not known to me. NO maker markings NO date NO Broad Arrow marking NO size indication.

FAR from the "prettiest" Brodie Helmet that you will ever see but nonetheless VERY RARE EXAMPLE and in its original colourway.
