Presenting a beautifully decorated and exceptionally well carved vintage wooden Maori Tiki box. This outstanding example displays a pleasing amount of age and has been expertly hand carved with exceptional attention to detail. This stunning piece features an intricately carved Maori Tiki face to the top of the hinged lid. The Tiki has been finished with fine diamond detailing, intricate spiral designs and a large protruding tongue.

Small discs of inlaid paua shell form the eyes perfectly complete the Tiki. The front and rear face of the box are beautifully decorated with intricate spiral designs while a fern leaf designs adorn the sides. An outstanding addition to any Maori Tiki, Pacific Islands, Oceanic or Tribal art collection!

FINE VINTAGE MAORI TIKI BOX. Fine diamond banding trims the edges perfectly framing the competently carved traditional designs. The lid is fitted with a concealed hinge which speaks to the quality of the piece.

This well crafted box has an appealing rich dark finish with pleasing warm tones. SIZE: This impressive Maori Tiki box measures approx 155mms in length x 100mms in width and stands 60mms tall. CONDITION: This piece is presented in excellent vintage condition with no breaks, cracks or repairs. There is some exceptionally light wear to the surface finish which beautifully enhances the time worn character and charm of this authentically vintage example.

There is the odd minor nibble to the carved design noticeable only on close examination but mentioned for complete accuracy. The timber has developed an appealing mellow patina that only time can bring. The paua shell eyes are secure with no losses. This exquisite vintage piece has been well cared for and presents spectacularly.
