Presenting an exceptionally fine vintage Maori dance paddle expertly hand carved from one solid piece of native timber. This exquisite piece has been beautifully decorated with a finely detailed traditional Maori Tiki to the front face of the blade. The Tiki is patterned with an intricate tattoo inspired diamond detailled design and features a large protruding tongue and inlaid paua shell eyes. A diamond pattern to the butt of the paddle perfectly unifies the design. The carving is exceptionally fine and beautifully detailled.

CONDITION: This fabulous Maori paddle is presented in excellent vintage condition with no breaks, cracks or repairs. There are a few incredibly minor light scuffs and scratches to the surface which rather enhance the charm and character of this authentically vintage example.
The timber has developed a lovely mellow patina that only time can bring. The paua discs are secure and free from cracks.
