WW2 New Zealand Onward Tankard ANZAC Trench Art Sgt. Fernando Mena

WW2 New Zealand Onward Tankard. These were made in Egypt from salvaged brass from the battlefields of North Africa and were bought by servicemen as souvenirs. These were originally brass and then Chromed in New Zealand to save polishing.

It has been inscribed SOUVENIR SGT. FERNANDO MENA below the NZ insignia. I have seen a few of these over the years and can honestly say this is the best example I have seen as it retains most of the original chrome plating.

The only real loss is on the base which may have been from the plating process. There are a couple of very minor dents.
